Hearing aid camps
Many people live for years knowing that their hearing has changed, but never reach an audiologist. Cost is usually the reason. These camps exist to close that gap where we can, honestly and without over-promising.

01
Who the programme seeks to support
The camps are intended for people who are already aware of a hearing difficulty but cannot afford assessment or a device — including older adults, low-income workers and families supporting a member with hearing loss.
Untreated hearing loss affects far more than sound. It affects employment, safety, confidence and the ability to stay part of a conversation at home.

02
What happens during a camp
Every step is clinical, and every outcome is decided by the professionals present.
- Registration and history of the hearing difficulty
- Assessment by qualified audiologists or ENT specialists
- Discussion of findings and suitable options in plain language
- Where a device is appropriate, fitting and adjustment support
- Guidance on use, care and expectations from a device
- Referral for medical treatment where a device is not the right answer

What we cannot promise
We do not promise a hearing aid to every person who attends. Assessment, eligibility and device provision are subject to clinical suitability, programme criteria and the availability of devices at that camp.
For some people the right outcome is medical treatment rather than a device, and the assessment will say so.

Clinical responsibility
Hearing assessment, device selection and fitting are carried out by qualified audiologists and medical professionals. The foundation's role is organisation, coordination and support for costs where funding allows.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Will I definitely receive a hearing aid?
No. Provision depends on clinical assessment, programme criteria and device availability at that camp. Some people are advised medical treatment instead.
Is the assessment free?
Assessment at our camps is organised free of cost for participants.
What after-care is available?
Guidance on use and care is given at fitting. Longer-term support depends on the partner audiology service involved in that camp.
